EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Program Manager - Aeronautical and Maritime Connectivity Services in our Hughes Network Systems division. Hughes is a leading provider of satellite and managed network services utilizing innovative network technologies and solutions to serve mobility, enterprises and governments globally.


Job Duties and Responsibilities

A Technical Program Manager for Aeronautical and Maritime Connectivity Services at Hughes plays a crucial role in managing and advancing our mission to revolutionize connectivity solutions for the aeronautical and maritime sectors. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex software and hardware projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Launch Readiness: Establish and lead an ongoing launch readiness program that systematically drives progress and ensures the successful completion of critical program milestones
  • Performance Metrics: Identify and operationalize metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) necessary to track progress at a granular level; drive issue resolution and mitigation across the organization based on these metrics
  • Complex Work Stream Delivery: Support and organize the delivery of critical and complex work streams across the aeronautical and maritime connectivity services infrastructure, spanning both space and ground segments; provide technical leadership in decision-making, issue resolution and during the design review process
  • Requirements Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams of software and hardware engineers to define and manage project requirements and scope
  • Schedule Management: Oversee day-to-day management of deliverables, dependencies, and project schedules, ensuring projects progress through incremental phases effectively
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the leadership team at all levels to establish processes that track goals, objectives, milestones, progress, and risks. Drive organizational alignment on trade-offs and priorities

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or related technical field
  • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, preferably in the connectivity industry
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical field of software development, network infrastructure and/or connectivity services

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in defining and tracking project metrics and KPIs
  • Experience managing projects across cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $113,500.00/Year - $151,000.00/Year
