What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an RCI specialist?

To thrive as an RCI specialist, you need a solid understanding of healthcare revenue cycle processes, coding standards, compliance, and ideally a degree in health information management or a related field. Familiarity with systems like Epic, Cerner, and medical billing software, as well as certifications like Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR), are highly valuable. Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills help in identifying revenue opportunities and ensuring accurate billing. These skills ensure proper reimbursement, regulatory compliance, and financial health for healthcare organizations.

What are common challenges faced by RCI professionals and how can they be addressed?

RCI professionals often face challenges related to ensuring accurate coding, minimizing claim denials, and keeping up with frequently changing healthcare regulations. Staying current with coding standards and payer requirements is essential, as errors can result in delayed or lost revenue for healthcare organizations. Collaborating closely with clinical, billing, and IT teams helps to resolve discrepancies quickly and improve overall workflow efficiency. Continuous education and leveraging technology, such as automated auditing tools, can help RCI professionals maintain compliance and optimize revenue capture.

For over 50 years, The Goley Companies have led the insulation contracting industry through a family of specialized businesses operating under trusted names across the United States – and Residential Commercial Insulation, Inc. (RCI) is proud to be a part of that legacy.

Together, we deliver Building Performance Solutions, expert installation, and exceed customer expectations. Here, initiative is encouraged, innovation thrives, and collaboration feels like family. With the right tools, training, and support, we empower every team member to grow, succeed, and build a rewarding career.

Our Values in Action

Our core values guide everything we do — shaping how we work, grow, and succeed together:

  • Drive to Win – We set high standards and take pride in delivering exceptional results.
  • Deliver Beyond Expectations – We go the extra mile to ensure quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
  • Step Up amp; Take Ownership – Every team member is empowered to take initiative and make an impact.
  • Strive to Innovate – Continuous learning and problem-solving keep us at the forefront of our industry.
  • We Are Family – Respect, trust, and teamwork define our workplace culture.

At The Goley Companies, you’re more than an employee — you’re part of a team committed to building excellence together.

We are seeking a proactive, results-driven Sales Representative to join our team at RCI which is based in Lake Villa, Illinois — conveniently situated between Chicago and Milwaukee — we proudly serve customers within a 60-mile+ radius throughout northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. This position is responsible for promoting and selling insulation products, developing new business opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with commercial and residential clients. The ideal candidate has proven experience in construction-related sales and a strong ability to identify customer needs, provide tailored solutions, and exceed sales goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve customers by promoting and selling insulation products and services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Plan and organize daily work schedule to call on existing or potential customers.
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within assigned markets.
  • Prepare and present proposals, bids, and quotations tailored to customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor competition by gathering marketplace information on pricing, products, and new developments.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and bid tracking.
  • Keep management informed through regular updates and activity reports.
  • May be responsible for managing certain projects from planning through completion, ensuring proper scheduling, budgeting, resource coordination, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and a customer-first attitude.

This is an outside sales position in which the employee customarily performs sales activities in the field, meeting customers and prospects at their locations and other off-site environments.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of sales experience in insulation, building products, or commercial construction.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

The Goley Advantage

When you join our team, you’re not just taking a job — you’re investing in your future. We offer professional growth, industry-leading training, and a supportive environment built on trust, teamwork, and excellence. Our team members enjoy:

  • Competitive base pay with commission
  • Company vehicle and phone
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Opportunities for career growth in the rapidly expanding energy efficiency industry

Here you’re more than an employee; you’re part of a team building excellence together.
