AS A CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR
The Construction Cost Estimator is responsible for the accurate and efficient summation of Material, Labor, Equipment and Miscellaneous Items required to construct any given project or a particular scope of work. Knowledge of the following Scopes of Work is applicable to this position:
  • Water Features / Aquatics
  • Decorative Concrete / Specialty Concrete
  • Masonry Construction including, but not limited to, Site Signage, Seatwalls, Outdoor Kitchens, etc.
  • Site Grading and Drainage
  • Landscape Irrigation Systems
  • Landscape Planting / Turf & Grasses

CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR DUTIES INCLUDE
  • Reviewing construction drawings and specifications and determining scope of work.
  • Communicating with Estimating Assistant to contact subcontractors if required.
  • Communicating with clients regarding price and scope of work.
  • Communicating with vendors regarding materials required for the project.
  • Developing RFI's for clarification of drawings and/or written specifications.
  • Developing cost estimate using Bid2Win estimating software - prior experience with Estimating Software is a plus
  • Understanding general accounting principles in order to properly setup awarded projects within RCI's accounting software.
  • Coordinating and reviewing plans and specifications with assistant personnel for the purpose of developing accurate takeoffs.
  • Attending pre-bid meetings required.
  • Reviewing takeoffs for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinating and communicating with required subcontractors to determine scope of work.
  • Analyzing subcontractor and/or vendor quotes for accuracy and completeness.
  • Developing cost estimates for review by the Director of Estimating.
  • Follow-up with prime contractors and/or clients for determining if RCI will be awarded the project.
  • Assisting contracting in Job Cost Setup if awarded a project
  • Conduct Project Turnover Meetings from Estimating to Project Management Team

QUALIFICATIONS WE LOOK FOR
  • Degree in Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Landscape Contracting, or related field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word required.
  • Experience with Bid2Win is preferred.
  • Field experience is a plus.

COMPENSATION / BENEFITS
  • $50,000.00 to $75,000.00 per year based on experience, educational background, certifications

EXPERIENCE
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in Construction preferred
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word required.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Landscape Architecture, Landscape Contracting, or related field.

LICENSE
Driver's License (Class E and above)
