Job description

Salary:

Human Resources Manager

RCI Energy Services
Huntersville, NC | Full-Time

Build With Us

RCI Energy Services is not looking for someone who simply wants to maintain the status quo.

We are looking for an HR leader who wants to help build, improve, and drive a rapidly growing organization.

RCI is a North Carolina-based utility and renewable energy service provider with a national footprint, supporting utility-scale solar, battery storage, substation, commissioning, maintenance, and specialty electrical services. We have grown quickly, and with that growth comes complexity, opportunity, and the need for stronger internal systems.

We need someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, embraces challenges, identifies problems before others see them, and takes pride in building structure where structure is needed.

If you are energized by solving problems, creating systems, and helping build a high-performing organization, this may be the opportunity for you.

If you prefer highly structured environments where every process is already built for youthis is likely not the role for you.

The Role

RCI is seeking a Human Resources Manager to take ownership of our HR operations and help elevate the organization to the next level.

This is not an administrative-only HR role. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can think strategically, execute tactically, and help build scalable HR systems to support a growing national workforce.

You will be expected to identify gaps, create solutions, improve processes, and drive accountability across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

HR Leadership & Administration

  • Manage all day-to-day HR operations including onboarding, employee relations, disciplinary actions, offboarding, and personnel management.
  • Maintain personnel records and ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on HR matters.

Policy Development / Organizational Improvement

  • Evaluate current HR processes and identify operational gaps.
  • Develop, implement, and improve HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Build scalable systems that support company growth and improve operational efficiency.

Compliance / Payroll / Claims

  • Assist in managing certified payroll and prevailing wage compliance.
  • Oversee workers compensation claims and return-to-work coordination.
  • Ensure compliance across a multi-state workforce.

Training / Workforce Development

  • Partner with Safety and Operations teams to track employee training, qualifications, certifications, and workforce readiness.
  • Maintain qualification cards, project certification letters, and employee competency documentation.

HRIS / Systems Management

  • Manage and optimize BambooHR and HRIS workflows.
  • Improve reporting, tracking, automation, and employee data management systems.

Benefits / Retirement Administration

  • Support benefits administration and retirement/IRA compliance initiatives.
  • Coordinate with third-party administrators and benefit providers.

What Were Looking For

We are seeking someone who is:

  • Highly Motivated You do not wait to be told what needs to be done.
  • Solutions Oriented You identify problems and bring solutions, not excuses.
  • Adaptable You thrive in dynamic, changing environments.
  • Organized You can manage multiple priorities without letting things fall through the cracks.
  • Driven You take pride in helping build elite teams and systems.
  • Competitive You want to be part of a high-performing organization that is constantly improving.

Preferred Experience

  • 5+ years of HR management or senior HR generalist experience.
  • Experience with certified payroll and labor compliance.
  • Experience managing workers compensation claims.
  • Experience with multi-state employment/workforce administration.
  • Experience in construction, utility, industrial, or field service industries strongly preferred.
  • Experience with BambooHR or similar HRIS platforms preferred.
  • Experience with IRA/retirement plan compliance is a plus.

Why RCI

RCI is building something special.

We are a company made up of professionals who care deeply about performance, accountability, and doing things the right way. We are not interested in averageand we are looking for people who share that mindset.
