Job description

Senior Piping Designer - AutoCAD Plant 3D
Location: Billings, Montana (on-site)
Benefits: Standard Medical, Dental, 401(k)
Pay Range: $50.00 /hr. - $70.00 /hr.      
*This role is not eligible for VISA sponsorship now or in the future. Candidates must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
Sr. Designer with onsite TA experience.
Someone who can review IFA packages and identify/address constructability items, track status of work packages, and interact with fab shops to address questions and track progress. Using AutoCAD Plant 3D.
 
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in design and drafting in a refinery, or equivalent, setting.  Ideally this would be someone that has worked at a client’s site, or at least has good experience working in industrial settings.
  • Preference would be for someone that has experience with the Client's refinery.
  • Proficient in the use of Plant 3D
  • Become familiar with and adhere to Client's Safe Practice Standards and Client's Corporate Safety Standards as needed.
  • Able to go outdoors into the refinery and wear PPE consisting of Fire-Resistant Clothing, hard hat, safety glasses, safety toe boots with a defined heal, and ear plugs.  This is Client's minimum PPE requirements.
  • Perform field walkdowns if needed for layout, reviews, and verifications for design work.
  • Familiarity with Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (PID) and refinery equipment.
  • Ability to perform extended walkdowns to verify as-built status of process equipment within various units in the refinery.
  • Generate field markups of as-found installations on existing piping and instrumentation diagrams for review with Operations Process Engineer.
  • Create field sketches of existing installations for generation of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (PID) to document existing installations. Review field sketches with necessary SMEs and generate CAD files to document systems.
