Job description

Responsibilities & Qualifications

We are seeking a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) to join our team supporting DISA JSP ETM in Arlington, VA.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant RCDD experience
  • 3+ years as senior or lead RCDD in planning, and designing cable infrastructure that supports the DoD environment

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Related Field

Certifications

  • Registered Communications Distribution Designer certification

Clearance

  • Must possess a Top Secret/SCI clearance

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform site visits for data collection and evaluation of telecommunications and building technologies systems, equipment, components, and materials for projects with and without well-defined scopes.
  • Maintain Inside Plant cable infrastructure to include conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber, and all associated elements.
  • Develop EIPs required for installation of cable racks, wiring of the racks and testing required during installation.
  • Current on codes and technologies appropriate to the telecommunications and building technologies and design/construction industry.
  • Follow JSP and commercial best practice procedures, standards and/or provide Engineering Installation Plans (EIPs) required for installation of cable racks, wiring of the racks and testing required during installation.
  • Support the maintenance and clean-up of 1800 or more telecommunication rooms at the Pentagon, Mark Center and NCR, and outlying buildings under JSP operations. Tasks include on-site assessments, weekly reporting of survey findings (barring exceptional circumstances), devising maintenance strategies for improvements, and ensuring compliance with EIA/TIA 568A & 568B Standards and related regulations.
  • Perform 24/7/365 break fix on all Inside Plant cable infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling systems from an installation and basic design perspective.

WAGE INFORMATION

Target salary range: $100,000 - $155,000. The salary range displayed is an estimate and will be determined on several factors regarding the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract parameters and organizational requirements.  The displayed salary is one component of the total compensation package for employees.
