As the world's largest manufacturer of fire equipment, we make sure our vehicles, production teams, and service personnel are ready to do what is necessary to keep communities safe.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Body Shop will start the paint process on the cabs. They will prepare the cab for prime by preliminary surface cleaning, grinding, applying body filler, and shaping/sanding cab.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauer's Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

  1. Clean cab using a wax/grease remover.
  2. Inspects cab for defects and document in build book.
  3. Sand area to be body filled, clean with wax and grease remover, and tape off areas needing protection from excess filler.
  4. Apply body filler to required areas with a plastic spreader.
  5. Remove excess filler and shape/sand body filler to a quality finish.
  6. Maintain tools and work area.
  7. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.

Tools to be utilized:

Hand tools, power tools, grinders, air buffer/sander, D/A sander, air-file, and air blowers.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA's): The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Associate degree in autobody preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in autobody preferred.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.

Language:

  • Able to read and work from blueprints/spec books.
  • Able to read and understand a tape measure accurately.
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally in a team environment.

Math:

  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Computer:

  • Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain information/changes related to the build process.

  • Able to identify quality issues, recognize changes within the production process, and adjust as needed.
  • Able to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Able to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe working environment for all.
