Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join a growing Civil & Structural team, supporting power generation project. This role offers exposure to projects of varying size and complexity in a collaborative, engineering-focused environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural calculations and analysis using tools such as STAAD.Pro, RAM, spColumn, LPILE, Mathcad, ENERCALC, and Excel
  • Design concrete foundations for heavy equipment (rotating machinery, transformers, switchgear, MCCs)
  • Develop concrete anchorage systems (cast-in-place and post-installed)
  • Design structural steel systems including pipe racks, supports, equipment structures, platforms, and steel buildings
  • Prepare and review engineering drawing packages using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Plant 3D
  • Collaborate with civil, mechanical, and electrical teams to deliver integrated designs
  • Support site visits, plant walkdowns, and project meetings as needed


Day-to-Day Work

This role blends analysis, design, and drafting:

  • Running structural calculations and validating design capacity
  • Designing foundations and steel structures for industrial environments
  • Creating and reviewing engineering drawings
  • Coordinating with cross-functional engineering teams
  • Supporting occasional fieldwork and site coordination


Technical Environment

Structural Analysis & Design:

  • STAAD.Pro, STAAD Foundation, RAM Connection
  • spColumn, spMats, LPILE, ENERCALC
  • Mathcad, Excel

Modeling & Drafting:

  • AutoCAD, MicroStation, Plant 3D
  • SolidWorks, Inventor

Comparable Tools (welcomed):

  • SAP2000, ETABS, or RISA 3D (in place of STAAD)
  • SAFE (for foundation design)
  • Revit or Tekla (for drafting/BIM environments)


Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Civil Engineering (required); Masterโ€™s preferred
  • 5+ years of structural engineering experience
  • EIT required; PE preferred
  • Experience in industrial, power, or heavy civil projects is a plus
