Job description

This role is responsible for managing the bid process, partnering with pricing teams, and performing analysis on both incumbent and new business opportunities.  The ideal candidate will be comfortable working cross-functionally and handling data to support strategic pricing decisions and drive customer retention and growth with the support of the pricing supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the full lifecycle of customer bids & RFP/RFQ responses, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Initiate collaboration for internal pricing, sales, and operation teams to develop competitive pricing solutions for both new and existing customers.
  • Analyze incumbent business performance, identifying profitability trends using internal and external tools & oversees solutions, suggests bid direction based on collaborative pricing provided by all divisions.
  • Preparation for evaluation for new business opportunities through cost modeling, competitor benchmarking, and margin analysis to key players.
  • Prepares customer specific pricing strategies with data-driven insights and historical performance reviews for pricing leadership to review.
  • Uses pricing databases, bid templates, and documentation for ease of access and accuracy.
  • Assist supervisory personnel with tracking and reporting bid outcomes, and pricing performance.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Account Executives and internal divisions to ensure pricing is
    provided based on freight characteristics, customer needs, market imbalances, and expected operating
    ratios.

  • Timely and regular attendance according to the scheduled shift as determined by supervisory personnel.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Ability to perform and organize several projects at one time.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting, Business
  • Administration, Marketing, Economics, or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • One to two years transportation rate experience preferred.
  • One to two years P.C. computer experience preferred, with an Excel emphasis preferred.
  • Zero to six months customer service experience preferred.
