Responsibilities
WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A CANYON RANCH COLLEAGUE:
Ensure all menu items meet Canyon Ranch standards for quality, flavor, nutrition, and presentation while overseeing safe, sanitary, and cost-effective food production in the main kitchen and related areas.
Provide daily leadership and supervision to culinary staff, including hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, payroll oversight, and performance management to support smooth kitchen operations.
Maintain compliance with Pima County Health regulations and ServSafe standards by enforcing proper food handling, storage, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
Demonstrate knowledge of Canyon Ranch’s nutrition philosophy, recipes, menu ingredients, and resort offerings to support guest and staff inquiries.
Lead food demonstrations, special events, and educational programs in the Demonstration Kitchen while collaborating on seasonal programming and revenue opportunities.
Assist with budgeting, menu pricing, and food cost controls while partnering with culinary leadership to achieve departmental and operational goals.
Qualifications
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
Demonstrated experience in a Sous Chef or comparable leadership role, ideally within a hospitality or wellness-focused environment for 3 - 5 years.
A passion for teaching and sharing culinary knowledge, with prior instructional or training experience preferred.
A strong understanding of nutrition-forward cooking, proper food handling, and food safety best practices.
Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to consistency and quality.
