Job description

The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for assisting the Food & Beverage Manager. They will assist with overseeing assigned Food & Beverage outlets to ensure optimum performance, exceptional guest service and maximum profitability of all functions. They will train and motivate staff to exceed goals. The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager will always conduct them self in a manner that supports the guiding principles of Everline Resort and Spa. The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times.

Located in California’s Olympic Valley, Everline Resort & Spa provides a premier mountain getaway to North Lake Tahoe.   • Maintains a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction
  • Leads and supervises the outlets team
  • Assists with preparing forecasts and reports and assists in the development of the food & beverage budget
  • Ensures physical atmosphere and cleanliness of the department, including inspecting tabletops, countertops and side stations
  • Enforces high standards of hygiene and sanitation within the outlets
  • Ensures the security of monies, credit and financial transactions
  • Assists with establishing par levels for supplies and equipment
  • Supervises the performance, attendance, attitudes, appearance and conduct of service team
  • Manages timely completion of performance appraisals of service team
  • Assists in monitoring and maintaining the outlets’ systems and equipment to ensure their optimum performance
  • Assists with the development, training and inspiration of outlets staff for promotion
  • Empowers team to exceed service standards
  • Works with People Services to recruit and hire staff
  • Helps to monitor time punches, ensuring accurate payroll for all associates
  • Maintains a safe and pleasant work environment
  • Ensures cleanliness of outlets’ storage rooms
  • Promotes high associate morale
  • Attends appropriate resort, division and department meetings
  • Resolves guest issues promptly and with great care and effectiveness
  • Maintains a strong knowledge of hospitality trends, especially food & beverage
  • Utilizes labor management tools to schedule and control labor costs
  • Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Everline Resort and Spa
  • Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
  • Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude
  • Communicates all pertinent information to the outlets team
  • Ensures proper handling, cleaning and sanitation of equipment, china, glass and silver.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Provides general resort information for guests
  • Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events
  • Up sells other resort services and amenities to guests
  • Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Everline Resort & Spa dress code standards
  • Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all time
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Two or four year degree in field of choice preferred
  • At least 3 years of food and beverage experience required
  • Prior Four or Five Diamond experience preferred
  • At least two years supervisory experience preferred
  • Valid Food Handler and RBS Certification required

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Must be capable of frequently carrying, lifting. pushing or pulling up to 25lbs, occasionally lifting 50lbs. Bending and moving intermittently. Use fingers to grasp, move or assemble very small objects. Must be able to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to an indoor and outdoor working environment and the noise level in the work place is usually moderate to high.
  • Typical equipment used include but are not limited to computers, POS systems, handheld devices, phones and household cleaning supplies.
