Job description


Job Summary

The Traffic Technician performs labor as a Traffic Control Technician. This is an entry-level field position (outdoors) involving driving a company vehicle and setting up devices: cones, signs, barricades, water-filled k-rail, etc. on the job site per MUTCD guidelines. Flag traffic to ensure a safe work zone for NTS-TS customers, employees, and the public.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lift, carry, load, and unload traffic control devices, including signs, barricades, pavement marking materials, etc.
  • Set up and remove crash cushions, signs, and traffic control items at a jobsite.
  • Read and follow Traffic Control Plans and properly lay out the traffic equipment per the Traffic Control Plan.
  • Operate towing arrow panels, message boards, light towers, & trailers.
  • Operate company trucks to transport materials and equipment to and from job sites.
  • Repair equipment, assemble signs and perform all other shop work required to prepare for onsite traffic control.
  • Always follow company policies and safety regulations.
  • Keep accurate and timely job logs and return them to the office daily.
  • Communicate with General Manager and Supervisor to ensure they adequately informed on the project’s progress.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  1. Minimum (1) one year' experience working in Traffic Technician preferred
  2. Must possess a clean and valid Driver's License and DMV record by hire date.
