Job description

Our employee-owned, multi-disciplined team of engineering and design professionals is looking for a Professional Electrical Engineer with strong experience in office building and industrial power, lighting, and signal system design to join our Facilities Engineering team in Bloomington, Minnesota.
You'll work alongside our Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Structural Engineering teams, along with Architecture, on a wide range of building projects across industrial, mining, rail, education, government, aviation, and municipal markets. From educational facilities to industrial plants, there's no shortage of variety here.
As a Project Engineer, you'll lead the electrical engineering side of projects, developing site, power, lighting, and signal plans, one-lines, panel board and conduit/cable schedules, and detail drawings, all with an eye toward safe, efficient, and reliable design. You'll also support construction administration, including answering contractor questions, reviewing shop drawings, and confirming site work matches plans and specs.
Flexible work arrangement: 3 days in office, 2 days WFH
Location: Preferably Bloomington, MN, but Milwaukee, Downers Grove, Seattle, or Duluth also work.
What we're looking for:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • PE registration in Minnesota, or ability to obtain within 12 to 18 months
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in power, lighting, and signal system design for commercial/industrial facilities
  • Experience with electrical distribution equipment: panel boards, transformers, lighting, fire alarm, security, and data systems
  • Design experience with 208/120 and 480/277 volt systems
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office
  • Basic familiarity with Mechanical, Civil, Structural, and Architectural disciplines
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable contributing in team meetings and client conversations
  • Ability to travel up to 10% for meetings, client consultations, and site visits (occasional overnight travel)

Nice to have:
  • Experience with medium voltage (13.8kV) site power distribution
  • Industrial power system design for motor and process equipment control
  • Business development experience: scoping proposals, fee estimates, interview participation
  • Interest in growing into project management

$92,000 - $130,000 a year
The listed salary range reflects only the starting base pay range for candidates with 4-12 years of related experience in our MInneapolis, Minnesota office. Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and responsibilities. Individuals with great years of experience or compensation expectations are encouraged to apply.
