This is a seasonal position that will go through December 18, 2026


Position Overview: The Seasonal General Operations Associate is responsible for supporting rail and yard operations to ensure efficient cargo flow and safe handling of materials. The role involves coordinating train movements, verifying inventory, operating various types of heavy equipment, and overall housekeeping of the facility. The employee will assist in the Yard/Rail, Transload, and Reefer department as needed.


Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate train and cargo movement by executing management instructions and communicating effectively with the RMG team.
  2. Perform daily housekeeping tasks.
  3. Verify train inventory and document container information using tablets and multiple systems.
  4. Receive and execute train switching instructions from operations.
  5. Complete outbound paperwork for each train.
  6. Install or remove twist lock cones between containers on trains.
  7. Assist drivers when backing containers into the hoop conveyor.
  8. Operate hoop conveyor to stuff containers and ensure proper product distribution.
  9. Power wash and clean containers as needed.
  10. Scoop product from hoop building into containers and ensure correct loading amounts.
  11. Determine appropriate silo storage based on product grading.
  12. Operate Frontend Loader to push product and create space for incoming loads.
  13. Handle the receipt, storage, and shipment of grain, performing physically demanding tasks like operating conveyors/augers, probing trucks for samples, cleaning facilities, and maintaining equipment.
  14. Safely operate Yard Truck to maneuver containers on property.
  15. Operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and other machinery as required.
  16. Fuel equipment and perform temperature checks on generator sets, including weekends.
  17. Perform housekeeping duties, such as sweeping, vacuuming, and cleaning equipment to prevent dust explosions.
  18. Capable of standing, walking, and climbing ladders
  19. Conduct safety pre-checks for all equipment before use.
  20. Actively communicate safety or maintenance issues.
  21. Properly document all work performed as instructed.
  22. Perform tasks supporting Transload, Maintenance, Yard, Reefer, Elevator and Office operations as directed.
  23. Assist with sample collection when needed.
  24. Apply seals and bulkheads to containers while documenting the process accordingly.



Requirements:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  2. 1 year heavy equipment operation preferred
  3. Accurately follows instructions
  4. Time management
  5. Effective verbal and nonverbal communication
  6. Organizational skills
  7. Can frequently lift over 50 lbs
  8. Ability to work in all weather conditions
  9. Ability to push and pull up to 80 pounds occasionally
  10. Ability to ascend and descend ladders
