Safety Compliance & Driver Onboarding Coordinator (Contract / Part-Time)
Graphite Logistics is seeking an experienced transportation compliance professional to manage driver onboarding, safety files, and regulatory compliance administration for our trucking operations.
This is a contract-based position ideal for a retired safety director, former compliance manager, or experienced trucking industry administrator looking for flexible part-time work.

Graphite Logistics is a Dallas-based intermodal drayage carrier serving DFW rail terminals and Houston ports. We are a UIIA participant, US Customs bonded carrier, SmartWay-certified, and woman-owned business focused on safe, compliant operations and exceptional customer service.
Position Overview
The Driver Onboarding & Safety Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining compliant driver qualification files, monitoring regulatory requirements, coordinating onboarding activities, and supporting safety and compliance initiatives.
This role is administrative in nature and does not involve dispatching, recruiting, or driver management responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Driver Onboarding
  • Process driver applications, ensuring candidates meet company qualifications
  • Verify CDL, medical card, and required documentation
  • Review MVR, PSP, Clearinghouse, employment verifications, etc.
  • Coordinate pre-employment drug testing
  • Upon hire, build and maintain Driver Qualification (DQ) files
Compliance Administration
  • Maintain driver qualification files in accordance with FMCSA regulations
  • Track CDL, medical card, and annual review expiration dates
  • Process annual MVR reviews
  • Manage annual Driver Certification of Violations requirements
  • Assign and track driver training programs
  • Maintain compliance tracking spreadsheets and records
  • Assist with audit preparation and document organization
Safety Support
  • Track roadside inspections and violations
  • Assist with DataQ submissions
  • Maintain safety performance records
  • Monitor compliance deadlines and reporting requirements
  • Support corrective action documentation as needed
Equipment Compliance Support
  • Track annual inspection due dates
  • Monitor registration and permit expirations
  • Assist with maintenance and compliance record organization
Qualifications
Required
  • Minimum 3 years transportation safety or compliance experience
  • Working knowledge of FMCSA regulations
  • Experience maintaining Driver Qualification Files
  • Experience reviewing MVRs and PSP reports
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Preferred
  • Former Safety Manager or Compliance Manager
  • Experience with intermodal/drayage operations
  • Experience with:

  • Audit preparation experience
Compensation
  • Independent Contractor (1099)
