Job description

The Enviva team is driven by our shared vision for a renewable energy future. We are a fast-growing, purpose-driven, global energy company specializing in delivering sustainable wood bioenergy solutions. We are the world's largest producer of sustainable wood pellets, which provide a low-carbon alternative to fossil fuels.
This position provides a structured learning and development opportunity to prepare individuals for successful integration into a specific role within the plant operation. This role will provide hands-on training to gain knowledge and skills for a future role. This will include training in rail load out, quality, hammer mill and pellet mill operations.
Responsibilities
  • Follow all workplace and job safety procedures
  • Rail load out
    • Ensure cars are ready for loading and load rail cars according to proper procedure and shipping enter weights in computer
  • Quality
    • Sample and test raw, in process materials, finished goods and record results
  • Pellet Mill/Hammer Mill
    • Check machine to ensure they are running properly, adjust machine as necessary and properly clean machine for maintenance to keep equipment in good working order.
  • Properly complete paperwork
  • Operate mobile equipment (forklift, Bobcat) to assist where needed
  • Communicate with Operations team escalating issues as necessary
  • Keep area clean of accumulated dust and keep areas generally neat an orderly to meet housekeeping standards
  • Other related duties as assigned and serve as back up resources as needed which includes filling in for associates on PTO or leave

Qualifications
  • Ability to work multiple shift schedules and rotating shifts as required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to independently manage priorities and schedule to meet deadlines.
  • Willing to work different shifts as needed with proper notification

Preferred Qualifications - What Will Set You Apart
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Previous work experience in a manual position
  • Mechanical aptitude

Working Conditions
  • Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
  • Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment.
  • Work includes high places more than 100 feet, use main lifts and work in confined spaces.
  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment.
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and overnight to address unexpected site issues with or without notice.

Physical Requirements
  • Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day
  • Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery
  • Willing and able to pull and lift, up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

This position is not eligible for visa support.
