INTERMODAL DISPATCHER
Key Responsibilities
·        Dispatch & Scheduling: Coordinate daily activities for drivers, including container pick-up and drop-off at terminals, rails, and customer locations.
·        Customer Communication: Provide real-time delivery status updates, address inquiries, and resolve issues proactively.
·        Logistics Coordination: Manage terminal appointments, ensure proper up-to-date documentation (bills of lading), and minimize detention charges. Contacting depots, rails, customers, and drivers with issues regarding delivery. Reservations from rail yards, daily monitoring of rail, and billing.
·        Data Entry: Maintain accurate records such as updating container numbers; chassis information; driver’s information. Keeping rail yards updated with gate records. Registering drivers to rail yards. Assisting drivers with rail yard apps.
·        Conflict Resolution: Preventing and resolving issues occurring such as damaged containers, late deliveries, and driver truck breakdown.
·        General office: Answering/sending emails, fielding calls from customers and drivers.
Requirements
·        Skills: Strong communication – both written and verbal, computer proficiency, problem-solving
·        Experience: At least 2 years of intermodal and/or transportation required
·        Education: High school diploma or GED required
·        Typical work environment: Ability to work in a fast paced environment, often requiring flexibility and patience
·        Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm; Saturdays required as needed
