Job Summary:
Cornerstone Systems is seeking an AP Rail Analyst for our corporate office in Memphis, TN. The AP Rail Analyst is responsible for the financial review, reconciliation, and payment of rail and intermodal invoices supporting Cornerstone Systems’ intermodal and 3PL operations. This role ensures invoice accuracy, resolves billing discrepancies, and collaborates with Accounting and Operations to maintain strong vendor relationships and uphold financial controls.
This position is ideal for candidates with experience in rail billing, transportation accounting, intermodal finance, or financial analysis who enjoy owning processes and solving complex billing issues.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review, reconcile, approve, and process payment for rail and intermodal invoices across multiple railroads and platforms
  • Analyze billing discrepancies, submit disputes, and follow through on resolutions and refunds
  • Maintain accurate vendor aging reports and ensure timely payment of mission-critical vendors
  • Manage invoice processing and reconciliation within rail portals and third-party platforms (e.g., intermodal or ocean billing systems)
  • Partner with Accounting, Operations, Pricing, and IT to resolve data, system, and rate discrepancies
  • Support AP reconciliations, reporting activities, and audit readiness
  • Monitor AP inboxes and respond to vendor inquiries professionally and promptly
  • Uphold and promote Cornerstone Systems’ core values

Qualifications:
Required
  • 1+ years of experience in AP, financial analysis, transportation accounting, rail or intermodal billing
  • Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and Pivot Tables
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • On-site office environment
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • Experience in a 3PL, intermodal, freight brokerage, or logistics services environment
  • Familiarity with rail billing structures, fuel surcharges, and vendor portals
