Job description

Position Summary

The Inventory Manager is responsible for the health, accuracy, optimization, and governance of inventory across Radwell's global network. This role owns inventory policy, safety stock strategy, replenishment parameters, item segmentation, and inventory optimization initiatives while ensuring inventory investment supports customer service objectives and working capital goals.

Reporting to the Planning & Inventory Management Director, the Inventory Manager works closely with Demand Planning, Procurement, Finance, Operations, Distribution, and Production teams to drive inventory performance and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

This is a highly analytical leadership role that requires a strong understanding of inventory management principles, supply chain strategy, working capital management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Strategy & Policy

• Develop and maintain inventory policies across all stocking locations
• Establish and maintain safety stock levels, reorder points, min/max parameters, and service level targets
• Develop and maintain inventory segmentation frameworks including ABC/XYZ classifications
• Continuously review inventory parameters based on demand patterns, supplier performance, and business priorities
• Partner with Demand Planning to ensure planning outputs align with inventory objectives
• Support multi-echelon inventory strategies across domestic and international operations

Inventory Analytics & Health Management

• Conduct inventory health reviews across all locations and business units
• Monitor inventory turns, days on hand, inventory coverage, and inventory value performance
• Identify inventory risks and opportunities across products, categories, and regions
• Analyze inventory trends and develop data-driven recommendations for improvement
• Monitor inventory record accuracy and support corrective action initiatives
• Develop inventory reporting and dashboards utilizing Power BI and other reporting tools

Excess & Obsolete Inventory Management

 • Lead the identification and management of excess and obsolete inventory
• Maintain E&O reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Develop disposition strategies to maximize inventory recovery value
• Partner with Finance to support inventory reserve and write-down analysis
• Identify root causes of excess inventory creation and develop preventive solutions
• Collaborate with surplus, procurement, and operations teams to reduce inventory exposure

Inventory Optimization

• Lead initiatives to optimize inventory investment while maintaining customer service objectives
• Develop inventory transfer and rebalancing strategies across stocking locations
• Evaluate stocking versus non-stocking decisions using demand and profitability data
• Analyze supplier MOQ impacts and support procurement negotiations
• Monitor inventory utilization and inventory consumption trends
• Support implementation and utilization of inventory optimization tools and methodologies

Financial & Working Capital Management

• Quantify the financial impact of inventory decisions and policy changes
• Support annual budgeting and forecasting activities related to inventory investment
• Monitor inventory as a percentage of revenue and overall working capital performance
• Analyze carrying costs and identify cost reduction opportunities
• Support cash flow planning related to inventory management activities

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Represent inventory management during S&OP reviews and planning activities
• Collaborate with Demand Planning, Procurement, Finance, Operations, and Distribution teams
• Partner with Supply Planning to ensure inventory outcomes align with business objectives
• Work with warehouse and production leadership to support inventory positioning and capacity planning
• Support consistent inventory governance across domestic and international operations

Reporting & Metrics

• Own inventory management KPI reporting and performance measurement
• Track inventory turns, days on hand, service levels, inventory record accuracy, and working capital metrics
• Prepare executive-level inventory performance reviews and recommendations
• Monitor stockout trends and inventory policy effectiveness
• Report financial benefits achieved through inventory optimization initiatives

Process Improvement

 • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management and planning processes
• Benchmark inventory performance against industry best practices
• Support implementation of inventory management technologies and analytical tools
• Lead inventory-related projects and organizational change initiatives

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of inventory management, supply chain operations, and working capital principles
• Experience managing inventory policy, optimization, and replenishment strategies
• Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business data and develop actionable solutions
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Ability to influence decisions across multiple business functions
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Knowledge & Skills Required

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including data modeling, pivot tables, and large data analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Understanding of safety stock methodologies, reorder points, and inventory policy design
• Experience with inventory optimization concepts and forecasting principles
• Knowledge of ERP, inventory management, and planning systems
• Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Operations, or a related discipline required
• 4–7 years of inventory management, inventory analysis, supply chain, or related experience required
• Experience managing inventory across multiple locations preferred
• International supply chain experience is a plus
• Experience with inventory planning software such as Slimstock, SAP, Blue Yonder, or similar platforms preferred

Certifications

• APICS CPIM, CSCP, CIPS, or related certification preferred
• MBA, Master's degree, or advanced supply chain qualification is a plus

Compensation & Bonus

The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $130,000–$175,000 annually.

Within the base salary range, individual compensation is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

This position is eligible for a discretionary year-end bonus based on individual performance, departmental objectives, and company results.

Work Schedule
