We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results-driven General Manager to lead our Puerto Rico market operations. This executive leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of station performance, including revenue growth, sales leadership, programming collaboration, operations, community presence, and team development.

The ideal candidate is an experienced media leader with strong business acumen, a passion for Hispanic media, and a proven ability to build high-performing teams and drive market success.


Position Summary

The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational management, and financial performance of the Puerto Rico market. This role oversees sales, marketing, promotions, programming coordination, operations, and administrative functions while ensuring alignment with SBS corporate objectives.

The General Manager will lead revenue generation efforts across radio, digital, and experiential platforms while fostering strong relationships with advertisers, agencies, community leaders, and strategic partners.


Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Market Management
  • Lead all day-to-day operations for the Puerto Rico market
  • Develop and execute strategic business plans to drive revenue growth and profitability
  • Build, coach, and lead high-performing sales and operational teams
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable workplace culture
  • Ensure compliance with FCC regulations, company policies, and operational standards
Sales & Revenue Growth
  • Oversee local and national sales strategy across radio, digital, promotions, and event platforms
  • Drive revenue performance through direct client engagement and strategic partnerships
  • Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging revenue opportunities
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to establish budgets, forecasts, and revenue goals
  • Support major account development and agency relationships
Programming & Brand Strategy
  • Partner with Programming leadership to strengthen ratings performance and audience engagement
  • Support station branding, promotions, community initiatives, and marketing campaigns
  • Ensure SBS brands maintain strong visibility and relevance within the Puerto Rico market
Financial & Operational Oversight
  • Manage market budgets, expense controls, forecasting, and operational efficiencies
  • Review financial reports and implement strategies to improve performance
  • Oversee staffing, talent development, and workforce planning
  • Ensure smooth coordination between departments including Sales, Promotions, Programming, Traffic, Finance, and Engineering
Community & Industry Engagement
  • Represent SBS Puerto Rico at industry events, client meetings, and community functions
  • Strengthen relationships with local organizations, advertisers, and business leaders
  • Enhance the companyโ€™s reputation and community presence across the market

QualificationsRequired
  • 7+ years of leadership experience in media, radio, broadcasting, advertising, or related industries
  • Proven experience managing revenue growth and operational performance
  • Strong sales leadership and business development background
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills
  • Strong understanding of radio, digital media, and integrated marketing solutions
  • Ability to analyze financial performance and develop strategic initiatives
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational and decision-making abilities
Preferred
  • Prior General Manager or senior market leadership experience
  • Experience within Hispanic media or multicultural marketing environments
  • Established relationships within the Puerto Rico advertising and business community
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
