What are some of the common challenges Radiologic Technologists face when working in a fast-paced healthcare environment?

Radiologic Technologists often encounter challenges such as managing multiple patient cases simultaneously, adapting quickly to urgent or emergent imaging requests, and ensuring patient comfort while obtaining high-quality diagnostic images. Additionally, they must maintain strict adherence to safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure and collaborate effectively with radiologists, nurses, and physicians. Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure are key to thriving in this dynamic environment.

What is a Radiance?

Radiance professionals typically refer to experts who work with Radiance, a suite of programs for the analysis and visualization of lighting in design and architecture. These specialists use Radiance to simulate natural and artificial lighting, helping architects, engineers, and designers optimize lighting conditions in buildings and spaces. Their work involves creating detailed lighting models, running simulations, and interpreting results to inform design decisions. By accurately predicting how light interacts with materials, Radiance professionals support sustainable and efficient building designs.

What is the difference between Radiance vs Esthetician?

AspectRadianceEsthetician
CredentialsCertification in skincare treatments, possibly specialized in light therapyState licensure, skincare certification, esthetician license
Work EnvironmentSpas, salons, skincare clinics, wellness centersSpas, salons, dermatology clinics, medical spas
Industry UsageFocuses on skin health, beauty treatments, light therapyProvides facials, skin analysis, hair removal, and other skincare services

While both Radiance and Esthetician roles involve skincare, Radiance often emphasizes specialized treatments like light therapy, whereas Estheticians provide a broader range of facial and skin services. The choice depends on your interest in specific treatments versus general skincare services.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Radiance engineer?

To thrive as a Radiance Engineer, you need a solid background in lighting simulation, architectural design, and physics, typically supported by a degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field. Proficiency in Radiance software, daylight simulation tools, and CAD/BIM systems is essential for accurate analysis and modeling. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication set top performers apart in this role. These skills and tools are crucial for delivering precise lighting analyses that inform sustainable design and energy performance in building projects.

Job description

The successful candidate will support the Intelligence Community (IC) in the development of analytical simulation capabilities and models to support multiple space-based analyses. Typical projects involve developing and integrating authoritative intelligence-based physical, mathematical, and logical models in TMAP & AFSIM, developing scenarios to test new concepts, and enabling and performing analysis of space-based systems and concepts.
The Scientific Analysis Operation focuses on providing analytical capabilities and generating accurate scientific and technical information to support the IC and DoW through specialized software development, M&S tooling and infrastructure, and analysis. We have a unique blend of analysis and modeling capabilities with an understanding of S&TI missions that enable us to provide the Government with innovative solutions to complex challenges and questions. We are industry leaders in the Air Force's AFSIM modeling and simulation environment and have been heavily involved in TMAP, ITASE, and NGTS for years. This opportunity will give the candidate exposure to a wide array of novel technologies and concepts, including space-based threat systems and operations, intelligence tradecraft and digital engineering practices, and cutting edge DoW M&S. Our dynamic, cross-disciplinary teams work collaboratively and encourage creativity and innovation using lean Agile methodologies for most projects.
Radiance Technologies is a rapidly growing employee-owned company with benefits unmatched by most companies in the Dayton area. Employee ownership, generous 401K and profit sharing, health/dental/life/vision insurance benefits, educational reimbursements, competitive salaries, pleasant work environments, and stimulating assignments combine to make Radiance Technologies a great place to work and succeed.

  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience related to space-based systems, network topologies, sensors, electronic warfare, data fusion, C2, cyber, or other defense-related areas

  • Experience with simulation frameworks such as AFSIM, TMAP, ITASE, or NGTS

  • Experience developing or integrating physics-based models in simulation frameworks

  • Experience in authoritative scenario development, DOE design and execution, or engineering and technical analysis
