Job description

Title: Assistant Rackets Instructor
Reports to: Rackets Director and Recreation/Camp Supervisors
Seasonal Position:Summer
Function:The Assistant Rackets Instructor will be asked to instruct and assist with both tennis and pickleball programming at the Pine Canyon Club throughout the summer season. This position will require consistent hours throughout every week of the summer. Candidates must be familiar with playing tennis or pickleball, and ideally both! Instructional background in a sport is also recommended. Candidates will be asked to maintain Pine Canyon's 5 Star Service Guidelines throughout their shifts. Candidates will be working with both junior and adult members, and should be prepared to communicate effectively and demonstrate high energy throughout their workday.
Responsibilities:
  1. Be punctual, organized, and participate enthusiastically in pickleball and tennis programming with both junior and adult participants.
  2. Maintain Court and Racket facilities up to Pine Canyon's 5 star standards.
  3. Act as a positive representative for Pine Canyon's Racket department, offering assistance and guidance to members, guests, and other employees.
  4. Help effectively coordinate with other club departments to assist Racket Department's programming and facility needs.
  5. Maintain consistent work schedule through every week starting May 28th and running through August 4th. (Additional weeks and hours will be requested outside of that timeframe as well.)

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is skilled in either tennis or pickleball, or both. Exhibits characteristics of leadership, enthusiasm, patience, self-control, maturity, responsibility, great social skills, integrity and a positive attitude.
  • Extensive experience playing either tennis or pickleball, and ideally both.
  • The ideal candidate will have prior experience as an instructor or coach in a skill.
  • Has the desire and ability to work with children in an indoor and outdoor setting.
  • Proven leadership, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to accept guidance and supervision from leadership
  • Ability to interact with members easily and exuberantly
  • The ability to work for extensive periods of time outdoors while maintaining elite standards of patience, enthusiasm, customer service, and communication.
