Job description

Electronics Technician (Power Electronics & Testing)

Position: Electronics Technician 
Location: Walpole, MA
Salary Range: $65K - $90K (DOE)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, test, and repair UPS systems and power electronics down to the component level
  • Set up and operate electronic test equipment to diagnose product defects
  • Document failure symptoms, repair actions, and test results
  • Analyze repair data to identify trends and support root cause analysis
  • Partner with sustaining and design engineers to resolve product issues and implement improvements
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring defects and recommending corrective actions
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians
  • Follow ISO procedures and production quality standards
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
  • Support engineering changes and product updates (ECOs)

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent technical training
  • 3+ years of experience testing and repairing power electronics at the component level
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, and electronic loads
  • Strong soldering skills, including SMT components
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings
  • Experience with troubleshooting tools and software (e.g., serial communication tools like PuTTY or HyperTerminal)
  • Familiarity with 8D or similar structured problem-solving methods
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
