A.R. Mays Construction is seeking an experienced Traveling Construction Superintendent to oversee hospitality, clubhouse, entertainment, and commercial construction projects throughout the Southwest. Job Summary

The Construction Superintendent is responsible for the direct supervision and coordination of all field activities performed by A.R. Mays Construction and its subcontractors on assigned projects. This position plays a critical leadership role in ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing hospitality-related projects. The Superintendent will work closely with project teams, owners, architects, and subcontractors to deliver exceptional construction projects while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day field operations
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce project schedules
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
  • Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Maintain quality control standards throughout construction
  • Conduct and coordinate inspections and permit requirements
  • Lead project meetings and maintain effective communication with project stakeholders
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract document updates
  • Oversee safety compliance and jobsite housekeeping
  • Coordinate punch list activities and project closeout
  • Build and maintain strong client and owner relationships
  • Ensure construction activities minimize disruptions when working in occupied hospitality environments
  • Lead project teams to achieve successful project outcomes


Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 Years working as a Superintendent for a commercial construction general contractor
  • Valid Driver's License
  • OSHA 30 Hour Certification
  • Computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Procore
  • Ground-up construction experience a plus
  • Experience with clubhouse, hospitality, entertainment, and recreational construction projects preferred
