Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for Pouring Operator at our Conover, NC manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for efficiently and safely operating the controls for the feed and metering pumps, recording pour log data, and monitor top and bottom paper rolls.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining best in class quality standards. The successful candidate will be able to communicate with department supervisors, and pour line personnel on a daily basis, and maintain a well-organized work area to achieve the necessary results to meet production and shipping schedules.

Basic Skills and Requirements:

  • Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • Ability to work in a continuous fast- paced environment with attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others
  • Basic computer knowledge and the ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime, if needed.
  • Ability to operate machinery proficiently

Essential Functions:

  • Set up the PLC for Production
  • Monitor and operate the PLC during production
  • Monitor the foam recipe in the PLC area during production. Monitor TDI monitor replace monitoring tape as required Record data on Pour Logs
  • Organize Pour Logs and pour production paperwork.
  • Monitor the top and bottom paper as it unwinds
  • Change the top and bottom paper trim windup
  • Load top and bottom paper rolls and prepare the rolls for production (requires forklift)
  • Operate the tank farm pumps and temperature control system via HMI
  • Operate the compressors and chiller via touchpad.
  • Monitor feed and finishing filters via PC
  • Be a member of spill response team
  • Forklift, Haz Comm Level 2 , HAZWOPER (Haz Mat Spill Team), Respirator, Hazardous Materials, Hazardous Waste, Universal Waste, Fire Extinguisher and Fire Hose

                  Required Testing:

                  • Pulmonary Function Test, Respirator Fit Test

                  Minimum Qualifications:

                  • Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills.
                  • Must have the ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
                  • Familiar with SAP preferred but will train.

                  Education: High School Diploma or GED

                  Work Hours: 6:00am - 14:30pm or depending on business needs

                  Hourly Rate: $23.69 - $24.55.
