Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a 1st shift Accounting Specialist at our Riverside California manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for responsible for setting up and maintaining customer database and production materials, general accounting clerical functions and backup for Accounts Payable.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the Accounting Specialist, you will be expected to communicate with customers and vendors and handle a large amount of data when updating catalog pricing. This position works in a normal office environment.

Additional responsibilities as Accounting Specialist will include:

  • Set up and maintain customer database.
  • Set up and maintain production materials.
  • Assist customer service with pricing and material questions.
  • Maintain all Riverside national account catalogs.
  • Work with sales to implement all non-national price changes.
  • Backup for Accounts Payable.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

  • Three years of prior clerical or office experience and knowledge in operating a computer with general office software, at a minimum.
  • At least three years of prior clerical experience is required to perform the job. On the job training is provided. Some computer and Microsoft Excel experience are required.
  • Major duties and responsibilities of the job can be satisfactorily performed with a high school education or GED.

Salary Range starts at $22.31/hour
