Job description

Overview

Keysight is at the forefront of technology innovation, delivering breakthroughs and trusted insights in electronic design, simulation, prototyping, test, manufacturing, and optimization. Our ~16,800 employees create world‑class solutions in communications, 5G, automotive, energy, quantum, aerospace, defense, and semiconductor markets for customers in over 100 countries. Learn more about what we do.

Our award‑winning culture embraces a bold vision of where technology can take us and a passion for tackling challenging problems with industry‑first solutions. We believe that when people feel a sense of belonging, they can be more creative, innovative, and thrive at all points in their careers.

The Digital Photonics Center of Excellence (DP‑COE), part of Keysight Technologies, is responsible for developing innovative products in the critical portfolio segment of Oscilloscopes, Photonics, AWG (Arbitrary Waveform Generator), BERT (Bit Error Rate Tester), Digitizer, Logic Analysis, and Protocol Analysis. These products enable engineering teams worldwide to design with higher efficiency and quality across Computer, Semiconductor, Wireless, Automotive, Storage, Communication, and Quantum industries.

Your software will directly power the test and measurement systems that give engineering teams worldwide the tools to test, calibrate, and validate next‑generation wireless, photonics, and quantum technologies.

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and evolution of software components for Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) products. Working closely with R&D teams and product stakeholders, you will translate customer and product requirements into well‑engineered software designs and high‑quality implementations that deliver innovative, reliable, and scalable solutions.

In this role, you will own critical features and subsystems and influence architectural decisions while upholding high standards for software quality, compliance, performance, and maintainability across the product platform.

Responsibilities
  • Independently design and implement software features, taking ownership of components from concept through delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to translate customer and product requirements into clear technical requirements and practical implementation approaches.
  • Develop and maintain high‑quality, testable code in alignment with established standards, contributing to the team’s engineering practices and long‑term maintainability.
  • Lead debugging and issue resolution for complex problems to improve system stability, performance, and user experience.
  • Continuously expand technical expertise in relevant technologies and interfaces, applying new knowledge to enhance product capabilities.
  • Actively contribute to code reviews and technical discussions, providing constructive feedback and helping to maintain high engineering standards.
Qualifications Essential
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
  • 4+ years of R&D experience in software product development.
  • Solid experience in C# and C++ for professional application development.
  • Understanding of software design principles and OOP.
  • Use AI tools throughout the development workflow, backed by strong core software development skills.
  • Experience with modern development practices (version control, CI/CD, testing)
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and tools.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong command of English in written and spoken communication.
Preferred
  • Knowledge of multithreading and performance tuning.
  • Experience in Git, Jira, Confluence.
  • Good German language skills or willing to learn.
