Hardware Engineer
Location: New Albany, OH

About the Role
We are seeking a Data Center Infrastructure Technician to support critical data center operations in a large-scale enterprise environment. This role is responsible for maintaining onsite data center infrastructure, responding to operational incidents, supporting installations and moves, and ensuring the reliability of mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate combines hands-on data center experience with strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and respond to onsite operational risks, incidents, and high-priority issues.
  • Troubleshoot data center infrastructure problems and manage incident queues.
  • Support shift turnover activities, media processing, and vendor escorting.
  • Assist with data center and data room power-down events.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Service Owners, and Subject Matter Experts to implement infrastructure-related requirements.
  • Support OSI Layer 1 infrastructure design, implementation, and documentation efforts.
Required Qualifications
  • 1-3+ years of experience deploying and maintaining complex data center environments, including new facilities, renovations, or expansions.
  • Understanding of copper and fiber optic cabling, including both indoor and outdoor cable plant environments.
  • Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies, including:
    • LAN, WAN, and SAN environments
    • Firewalls
    • Windows, Linux, and UNIX servers
    • Storage systems
    • Wireless technologies
    • Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)
  • Familiarity with EIA/TIA, IEEE, NEC, and ISO standards related to data centers and structured cabling.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Self-starter with a strong team-oriented mindset.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Networking, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
