Our client, in the financial services industry, is looking for a UX Researcher to join their team!

Job Title: UX Researcher

Location: Hybrid in downtown Dallas, TX - flexibility for fully remote

Pay Range: $60-65/hour W2 (W2 only) - open to US Citizens and Green Card holders

Role Overview
The UX Researcher will lead research initiatives for complex, data-intensive digital experiences. This role drives evidence-based design decisions through both qualitative and quantitative research methods, translating findings into actionable design principles and business recommendations. The researcher will map complex organizational workflows, document user cohorts and personas, and ensure research insights directly influence product strategy and design solutions.
Scope of Work
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan and conduct qualitative research including usability testing, user interviews, ethnographic studies, and testing script development
  • Design and execute quantitative research including surveys, analytics analysis, and A/B testing
  • Map organizational workflows and complex system relationships in highly governed environments
  • Develop and document accurate user cohorts, personas, use cases, and journey maps representative of diverse user types
  • Translate research findings into clear, evidence-based design principles and actionable business recommendations
  • Present research findings and defend methodologies to stakeholder audiences, including those who may challenge findings, as well as for executive audiences
  • Conduct workflow analysis and task analysis for multi-layer business processes
  • Execute information architecture research methods including card sorting, tree testing, and findability studies
  • Work independently to recruit participants, conduct research, and synthesize findings
  • Partner with UX team members to ensure research insights inform design decisions throughout the product lifecycle
Sprint-Level Activities:
  • Participate in PI planning sessions and sprint planning
  • Conduct research activities aligned with sprint goals and product priorities
  • Provide research insights during bi-weekly design reviews
  • Collaborate with UX designers and product teams on research integration
  • Support rapid, lightweight research needs as they emerge during sprints

Key Deliverables:
Quarterly (PI-aligned):
  • Research roadmap aligned with product PI objectives
  • Comprehensive user research reports with actionable recommendations
  • Updated personas, user cohorts, and journey maps
  • Quarterly research synthesis presentations to stakeholders
  • Research success metrics reports demonstrating impact on product decisions
Sprint-level:
  • Usability testing reports and findings
  • Research insights and recommendations for active design work
  • Participant recruitment and scheduling for upcoming research activities
  • Synthesis documentation from qualitative research sessions
  • Analytics reports and quantitative data analysis
As Needed:
  • Testing scripts and research protocols
  • Survey instruments and questionnaires
  • Workflow maps and task analysis documentation
  • Research methodology recommendations for new initiatives
  • Stakeholder education materials on research processes and findings

Required Qualifications
Experience Requirements:
  • 5+ years conducting UX research with both qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Proven experience researching complex systems, workflows, and B2B or technical tools (not just consumer applications)
  • Experience working in agile environments with iterative research approaches
  • Track record of presenting research findings to stakeholders and defending methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal hand-holding
  • Experience mapping complex organizational structures and workflows

Core Competencies:
