Things You'll Do
  • Drive the end-to-end sales & use tax process by partnering with the sales team to secure proper tax documentation for complex deals
  • Manage tax calculations within Avalara, and ensure all global transactions are accurately captured for monthly filing and audit readiness
  • Assist with VAT reporting processes around the world
  • Manage the unclaimed property process
  • Complete routine business and tax related filings with various states, counties, and cities
  • Complete month and quarter close account reconciliations
  • Assist with various projects and audit requests
  • Continuously look for ways to improve processes, increase efficiencies, utilize AI, and improve the quality of the team's work product

What We're Looking For On Your Resume
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, Master's degree preferred
  • 1-4 years of accounting or tax experience, Big 4 experience preferred
  • Sales tax and/or VAT experience preferred
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and change
