With quality professionals located throughout the U.S. and more than 90 countries, we deliver on-site supplier quality inspections, audits, engineering support, and technical expertise wherever our clients need us.

We're seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector II to support inspections at multiple supplier locations near Wendell, NC. This is an excellent opportunity for an inspector with strong mechanical and electromechanical inspection experience who enjoys working independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Schedule
  • Monday-Friday
  • Second shift with overtime and weekends
  • Full-time (40+ hours/week)
  • Long-term contract (1-2 years)

Key Responsibilities:
 
    • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of mechanical and electromechanical components
    • Conduct dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment
    • Verify compliance to engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements
    • Support witness inspections, including CMM program runs
    • Review First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation for completeness and traceability
    • Verify workmanship, hardware installation, torque markings, cleanliness, and product conformity
    • Document and report nonconforming material
    • Compile inspection reports and final inspection packages
    • Audit inspection plans and validate inspection methods
    • Verify shipping documentation and product preservation prior to shipment
Required Qualifications:
    • 5+ years of manufacturing experience
    • Minimum 2 years as a Mechanical or Electromechanical Quality Inspector
    • Strong experience inspecting precision machined components
    • Proficient with precision inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, and related equipment
    • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and complex GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
    • Experience performing dimensional inspections on tight-tolerance parts
    • Experience validating complex mechanical assemblies
    • Previous certification (or current certification) in GD&T ASME Y14.5 preferred
    • Experience supporting CMM inspections or working alongside CMM operators
    • Comfortable using Gmail, Google Workspace, tablets, and digital inspection documentation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Electrical or electromechanical manufacturing
  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing
  • Supplier quality or source inspection
  • Inspection of brackets, clips, doublers, splices, drip shields, and similar assemblies
