Position Description
Position Summary:
The Quality Manager will establish and lead quality management systems to ensure consistent product quality across all operations and suppliers. This role combines hands-on quality oversight with strategic leadership to drive continuous improvement, reduce defects, and support business growth objectives. You will develop inspection protocols, implement quality standards, and build a culture of quality excellence while ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
Leadership
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop quality team members to ensure effective delivery of quality management programs
  • Establish, refine, and maintain QAQC standards, policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure consistency, compliance, and quality
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide ongoing feedback, and support professional development and career growth
  • Coordinate workload distribution, priorities, and resource allocation across projects

Quality System Management
  • Design and implement comprehensive quality management system aligned with industry standards
  • Develop inspection protocols, quality documentation, and standard operating procedures
  • Create quality metrics and KPIs integrated with ERP systems for real-time performance monitoring
  • Establish material certification and compliance tracking processes
  • Lead internal quality audits and coordinate third-party certifications

Process Improvement & Problem Solving
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives targeting first-pass yield improvements and rework reduction
  • Apply statistical process control and quality methodologies to optimize processes
  • Analyze quality data to identify trends and drive proactive improvements

Inspection & Testing

Position Requirements
Preferred Knowledge, Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered
  • 5+ years quality experience in manufacturing or mechanical environment
  • Experience with regulated industries and compliance requirements; knowledge of FDA, USDA, or other food safety regulations preferred
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management system standards
  • Experience with AWS D1.1 welding codes, ASME standards, or other welding and fabrication quality standards
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar quality certification preferred
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred
  • Proficiency in quality tools: Root cause analysis, statistical analysis, and problem-solving methodologies
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading and technical drawings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for data analysis
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with data-driven approach
  • Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills
