Job Description
Job Title: Quality Engineer
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Quality Manager, performs Quality Engineering functions for all production programs.
Responsibility:
  • Primarily responsible for performing Quality Engineering functions:

  • Have knowledge and understanding of IATF 16949.

  • Prepare PPAP documentation, Process Flow, Control Plans, PFMEA's etc.

  • Establish and participate in gauge design, Gage R & R, etc.

  • Provide manufacturing plant support for Quality issues.

  • Determine disposition of product through interpretations of established acceptance standards.

  • Responsible for containment areas: Disposition/MRB/Sample.

  • Assist in coordination of annual layout activities.

  • Provide Print review/interpretation, CMM support as needed.

  • Perform Layered Audits.

  • Update/maintain Quality documentation, operational procedures & forms, etc.

  • Leading and/or being a member of internal Corrective Action teams.

  • Provide supervision to Quality personnel including timecard approval, scheduling, and performance reviews.

Academic/Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field

  • 3-5 years or more of automotive experience

  • Must be familiar with automotive supplier OEM Portals

  • Internal Auditor Certification strongly preferred (IATF 16949)

  • Must be proficient in GR&R studies, CMM, SPC, GD&T, APQP, FMEA and PPAP.

Required Skills/Experience:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to interact and communicate at all levels of organization, and

  • with customer engineering and/or management.

  • Ability to effectively apply problem solving / continuous improvement principles and techniques to quality and manufacturing principles.

  • Strong manufacturing background.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated

  • poise, tact, and diplomacy. Customer focus - need to build and maintain relationships with internal and external

  • customers.

Practical knowledge of state-of-the-art inspection and quality engineering techniques, procedures, equipment, theories, and principles.
