Quality Engineer

We're recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer to join an established manufacturer in Shepherdsville, KY.


This is a hands-on manufacturing quality role supporting production, supplier performance, customer requirements and continuous improvement. The position will work directly with Production, suppliers and customers on quality issues and new product programs.


What You'll Do

  • Coordinate APQP activities for new programs and product changes
  • Manage customer and supplier PPAP approval processes
  • Develop and maintain PFMEAs and Control Plans
  • Lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and root cause investigations
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and manage supplier corrective actions
  • Use SPC, capability studies and quality data to monitor production performance
  • Conduct internal and supplier quality audits
  • Support the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Manage non-conforming material and quality issues
  • Perform layout inspections and support product testing
  • Work directly with customers and suppliers to resolve quality concerns
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing


What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years' Quality experience, or equivalent Quality Engineering experience
  • Manufacturing Quality Engineering experience
  • Strong PPAP and APQP experience
  • Experience developing PFMEAs and Control Plans
  • CAPA, corrective action and root cause analysis experience
  • Knowledge of SPC and process capability studies
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing Quality Management Systems
  • IATF 16949, supplier quality, auditing, CMM or gauge/fixture experience is advantageous
