Job description

Aptar is seeking a Quality Control Technician (Operator) based in McHenry, IL. This position is onsite at our McHenry plant. This role is responsible for the total production process through the finished goods stage, as well as for product safety and the quality of goods produced.
As a Quality Control Technician (Operator) You Will:
  • Promotes and maintains a safe work environment at all times.
  • Monitors multiple high speed automated production machines to ensure quality production standards in two (2) production areas to support One Production Floor.
  • Verifies correctness of components from shop order to component number to prevent mixed or wrong parts.
  • Performs quality checks visually, and using various inspection gauges
  • Performs testing of assembled product to ensure product meets performance requirements.
  • Fills machine hoppers for multiple machines.
  • Responsible for preparing boxes as needed to meet production demands.
  • Pull skids from production site to warehouse where applicable.
  • Performs rework at machine and sorts machine scrap. Removes minor machine jams.
  • Must be to follow backtracking procedures efficiently and effectively.
  • Performs recordkeeping duties using various production forms and a PC.
  • Loads tubing onto or into machinery where necessary.
  • Performs traceability and lot control functions utilizing a hand-held scanner.
  • Performs/meets the requirements of BRC/GMP/ISO in all job activities.

Who We Are Looking For
Education
  • Must possess high school diploma or equivalent GED

Required Skills
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, reach above shoulder for periods of time.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, push, pull, grasp, twist, lift, and climb steps. Must be able to discern shades of color.
  • Must be able to hear warnings/verbal alerts to avoid injury during manufacturing process.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English in order to communicate and understand relevant information relating to quality and production issues.
  • Must possess basic math and PC skills.
  • Must complete new hire orientation training and successfully certify in two (2) production areas within six (6) months (specifically quality inspection).
  • Previous experience with SAP a plus.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the starting hourly rate for this role is $18.50/hour plus any applicable shift differential.
