Job description

On behalf of our client—a global leader in integrated building materials and solutions—we are seeking a Quarry Supervisor to join their aggregate mining operations near Hinton, Alberta. Reporting to the Quarry Manager, this hands-on leadership role is responsible for executing daily quarry and infrastructure plans, coordinating production and maintenance activities, and managing logistics between the quarry and the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily operations and lead a team of 12+ multi-skilled workers and contractors.
  • Coordinate and track production activities including drilling, blasting, crushing, hauling, and train loadout.
  • Promote and enforce safety standards in compliance with OH&S regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee maintenance of stationary and mobile heavy equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Manage limestone blending, quality control, and shipping schedules.
  • Support quarry planning, employee training, and act as Quarry Manager when required.
  • Be available for occasional weekend work or on-call duties as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in quarry or mining operations.
  • Strong knowledge of safety, environmental, and mining regulations.
  • Certified (or eligible for certification) as an Underground Mine Foreman in Alberta.
  • Proficiency in heavy equipment operations and maintenance coordination.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Assets: Mining Technician or trades background, mine rescue training, SAP/Kronos, GPS-based drilling, and surveying experience.
