We have expanded to our second Izzio Artisan Bakery facility in Thornton, CO.


We are looking to hire experienced Quality Assurance Technicians (Food Production). Quality Assurance (QA) Technicians work alongside our production employees and with the Quality Assurance Manager. They conduct routine food safety and quality assurance inspections. Quality Assurance Technicians also execute daily quality activities to assess incoming materials, work in-process, labeling, final inspections, analysis, and testing of finished products, and perform sanitation responsibilities.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts line audits to verify correct packaging, labeling, codes, unit weights, and processing parameters.
  • Monitor critical quality points and documentation.
  • Provide support, training and review of quality and sanitation controls as well as policies to ensure they are effectively in place. These include master sanitation schedules, internal and external audits; GMP, Traceability, label compliance, SQF, HACCP, Kosher and Organic certificate regulation adherence.
  • Administration, document preparation, SOP’s, Regulatory and other related programs (Internal Audit, GMPs).
  • Responsible for documenting GMP violations and ensuring employees follow GMPs and good hygiene practices.
  • Responsible for communicating food quality and food safety issues to QA Manager and Plant Management in a timely manner
  • Participate in facility self-inspection process
  • Collect information, keep daily production and receiving records. Keep track of waste records.
  • Oversees the receiving of materials according to FSMA, and SQF traceability guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Schedules we are looking for:

  • 1st shift - 3am to 11.30am
  • 2nd shift - 11am to 7:30pm
  • 3rd shift - 7pm to 3.30am


Requirements:

Position Requiremen

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a minimum of 1-2 years of Quality Assurance experience in a food and/or beverage industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills resulting in the development of reports and procedures.
  • Relevant quality line control experience. Including GMP’s, Food Defense and HACCP
  • Basic computer skills including use and editing of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good organizational skills
  • Maintain regular, consistent attendance & punctuality. Must have a flexible schedule that may require weekends and holidays depending on the production schedule and business needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk within warehouse and plant environments.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ability to work in varying temperatures and humidity levels typical of bakery operations

DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience in working with 3rd Party audit companies. GFSI quality standards knowledge a plus
  • Bilingual is a plus
