What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Quality Assurance Specialist?

To thrive as a Quality Assurance Specialist, you need a strong understanding of quality control processes, analytical skills, and a background in relevant fields like engineering or life sciences. Familiarity with QA software, statistical analysis tools, and certifications such as Six Sigma or ISO 9001 are commonly required. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication are vital soft skills that help ensure compliance and continuous improvement. These skills are essential for maintaining product standards, reducing errors, and supporting organizational reputation and customer satisfaction.

What are some common challenges faced by a Quality Assurance and Software Testing Professional when collaborating with development teams?

One common challenge for QASPs is ensuring clear communication with developers, especially when reporting bugs or clarifying requirements. Additionally, QASPs often need to balance thorough testing with tight project deadlines, which requires strong organizational and time management skills. Building strong relationships and fostering open dialogue with developers and product managers can help overcome these challenges and contribute to a more efficient workflow.

Job description

What You'll Earn

  • $20–$24/hour based on experience and certification
  • $500 sign-on bonus for all new RBT hires
  • Up to $9,000 in tuition assistance, whether you're pursuing your BCBA, a master's degree, or a related career in Physical Health
  • 30 guaranteed hours/week (client cancellations don't affect your paycheck)
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match after 1 year
  • PTO that grows with your tenure + six paid holidays

Your Schedule

Required availability is Monday–Thursday, 8am–5pm, Friday 8am-4pm. No weekends unless desired, no late nights. 30 hours guaranteed each week regardless of any client cancellations.

What You'll Do Day-to-Day

  • Deliver one-on-one ABA sessions with children with autism, ADHD, and other developmental challenges
  • Maintain continuous, attentive supervision of your client throughout each session
  • Respond immediately to client behaviors that may present a risk of harm, including running or sprinting when necessary to reach a child quickly
  • Implement approved behavior intervention and crisis management techniques
  • Collaborate daily with BCBAs and a multidisciplinary team (OT, PT, SLP)
  • Track session data and celebrate real progress with kids and families
  • Show up fully present — this work is active, immersive, and demanding, and the breakthroughs make it worth every bit of it

Where This Role Can Take You

We invest in your next step, whatever that looks like:

  • Lead RBT — train new teammates while deepening your clinical skills
  • Mentor RBT — shape clinic culture and support fellow RBTs
  • QASP-S — oversee treatment quality across ABA programs
  • BCBA — we support RBTs pursuing their master's degree with internships and tuition assistance
  • OT, PT, SLP, or healthcare administration — we'll support whichever direction you choose

What It Takes to Thrive Here

We're looking for people with a passion for working with kids and a belief that progress, however small, is worth showing up for every day. The best RBTs we know didn't necessarily start having done it before, but come ready to learn and grow. If that resonates, you'll fit right in!

You'll also need:

  • Active RBT certification, or completed 40-hour training with your exam scheduled (you can also join as a BT and earn your certification with our support)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 18 years or older
  • Reliable transportation, Monday–Friday, with full 8:00 AM–5:00 PM availability
  • Comfort working independently in direct care settings

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical stamina to stay alert and responsive through full therapy sessions, including during high-energy or challenging moments
  • Stay physically active throughout the day: you'll be constantly moving, on the floor, kneeling, squatting, bending, and transitioning between positions. You'll lift and assist clients or equipment up to 50lbs

At Woven Care, we've intentionally built a culture that embraces challenges: we're driven by excellence while encouraging fun (we do work with kids, after all!). We believe deeply in the day-to-day impact of our work while also providing opportunities for long-term career growth and leadership opportunities for our team members. We offer real flexibility and manageable workloads for our team, while supporting our mission through collaboration and connection. We think this is what makes Woven Care such a special place to work and why such special people choose to work with us!
