Job description

The Opportunity

Fast growing Irving Manufacturer's Rep. firm of commercial HVAC products seeks an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist with a proven track record for success. The Quality Assurance Specialist will support the Equipment Sales team by providing quality assurance oversight on equipment orders, quotes, submittals, and sales documentation. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt opportunity for an energetic go-getter with career growth mindset and desires. An ideal candidate will be customer service oriented, work well with others and has the ability to demonstrate leadership capabilities. Position requires a high level of correspondence with Account Executives, manufacturers, and customers.

Travel Requirements

This position requires up to 45% travel, primarily within the state of Texas, to visit customer sites, job locations, and company offices as business needs require. Some travel outside the state of Texas may also be required on an occasional basis.

Company Vehicle

A company vehicle will be provided for use in fulfilling the travel and job-site responsibilities of this position, in accordance with company vehicle use policy.

Responsibilities

  • Review equipment orders, quotes, and sales documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to submission and processing.
  • Ensure equipment orders and submittals meet manufacturer brand standards and company quality standards.
  • Verify equipment specifications, pricing, and order details against customer requirements and manufacturer documentation.
  • Coordinate with Account Executives, manufacturers, and customers to research and resolve equipment order discrepancies.
  • Track equipment orders from quote through delivery to help ensure accuracy, quality, and on-time fulfillment.
  • Conduct quality reviews of equipment submittals, drawings, and product documentation.
  • Assist Account Executives with the preparation and quality review of proposals and sales documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment sales orders, change orders, and related correspondence.
  • Practice OSHA safety standards and safety standards set by Texas AirSystems.
  • Coordinate with the Safety Director to report unsafe conditions or suspicious activity encountered while traveling to customer or job sites.
  • Must maintain acceptable quality assurance metrics and brand audit score.
  • Promote company policies and philosophies to all Account Executives and customers.
  • Promptly investigate, report, and take any immediate required action to resolve customer complaints or discrepancies related to equipment orders.
  • Promptly communicate to Account Executives and Project Managers any order issues or special cases that warrant their attention.
  • Actively contribute to developing best practices and standard operating procedures for the Equipment Sales quality assurance process.
  • Dedicated to continuous improvement in quality, cost, communication and to building long-term relationships internally and externally.
  • Represent the company in a positive manner to manufacturers, contractors, and owners.
  • Works in a team-based environment with Account Executives to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Travel up to 45% of the time within the state of Texas, with possible travel outside the state of Texas, to support Account Executives and customers.
  • Operate a company-provided vehicle safely and in accordance with company policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.

The Required Profile

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have valid driver's license with good driving record
  • 10+ years' experience working in commercial HVAC equipment sales or a related industry
  • Ability to work independently & work in a team environment
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
  • Working knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, product lines, and manufacturer specifications
  • HVAC certification, OSHA 10 Training, electrical knowledge, and/or EPA Certification preferred (i.e. HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer, etc.)
  • Experienced with multiple manufacturer software systems (i.e. ABB, Wattmaster, MCS, Trane, Carrier, JCI) preferred
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and balance requirements of multiple and varied duties
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 45% of the time within Texas, with occasional travel outside the state, and to operate a company-provided vehicle

Environmental Requirements

Will be required to travel to customer sites, manufacturer locations, and job/field sites, with up to 45% travel within the state of Texas and possible travel outside the state of Texas. May be exposed to field environments including mechanical equipment rooms, noisy operating equipment, extreme weather conditions, and job sites in various stages of construction while conducting equipment inspections or site visits.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate a computer keyboard and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee may occasionally be required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl while conducting field site visits or equipment inspections. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
