Job Title: Purchasing Supervisor
Reports to: Purchasing Superintendent
Duties and Responsibilities:
โ€ข Responsible for placing purchase orders to maintain inventory levels and cost control.
โ€ข Identify and develop qualified suppliers which meet company standards.
โ€ข Maintain and support company objectives for cost reduction, inventory turns and on-time delivery.
โ€ข Supervise and develop direct reports in the purchasing department.
โ€ข Perform audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
โ€ข Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
โ€ข Make recommendations to management for cost saving strategies
โ€ข Develop, maintain and improve supplier relationships
โ€ข Locate alternative suppliers, products and services
โ€ข Provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends
โ€ข Daily checks of critical inventory.
โ€ข Lead a team of direct reports in Purchasing Department to accomplish goals and tasks
Key qualifications, abilities and skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook
