Summary - Assistant Retail Manager

The Assistant Retail Manager is responsible for the operations of the store in the absence of the General Manager. This position is responsible for dealing with all aspects of the store and its employees.

Duties - Assistant Retail Manager

  • Responds to employee concerns using problem-solving skills, tact and discretion
  • Fills in for General Manager when necessary.
  • Provides and ensures prompt and courteous customer service.
  • Plans and sets goals for the yearly budget of the store.
  • Performs duties on the front-end including supervisor, cashier and cashier assistant.
  • Plans maintenance and purchase of equipment. Oversees and negotiates with outside vendors and approves contracted services.
  • Develops in-house safety programs specific to the departments which they oversee.
  • Review schedules for multiple departments, verifying proper coverage.
  • Manages, schedules, develops, counsels, trains, and directs department personnel.
