Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Verify the accuracy of vendor invoices and confirm that the correct general ledger account codes are used.
  • Generate payment to vendors on a routine schedule and match the payment with backup for review by the assigned manager.
  • Prepare purchase orders or bid requests.
  • Prepares invoices for payment.
  • Verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests.
  • Prepare purchase orders.
  • Computes total cost of items purchased.
  • Verifies bills from suppliers with purchase orders and forwards bills for payment.
  • Meets production requirements daily.
  • Assists with cycle counts of purchasing inventory, and with the heavier periodic plant inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

As the purchasing assistant, your work will ensure that our production teams have exactly what is needed when it is needed. This role makes sure Cavco can keep their promise to our customers both internal and externally. The candidate we are looking for will possess the following qualifications:

  • Prior work experience in purchasing, accounts payable, or costing.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining efficiency.
  • Demonstrate a good work ethic based on principles of honesty and integrity.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Excell, ERP knowledge is a plus.
  • Willingness to learn and evolve within the Purchasing Department.
