Inventory Control Specialist 1

Monday – Thursday, 4:45 AM to 3:15 PM

Starting Base Rate of $20.00/Hour

What You’ll Be Doing as an Inventory Control Specialist 1:

Maintain inventory within Assembly, ensuring accurate demand signals pass through to planning and purchasing. Work within a designated sphere to ensure maximum production throughout the department by providing all necessary components and supplies to the assembly lines. Proactively escalate issues to leadership chain. Mitigate quality risks, by ensuring only needed parts are available to the line at any time.

  • Execute current inventory delivery systems as designed and work cooperatively to evolve system over time to maximize profitable throughput.
  • Conduct regular cycle counting activities.
  • Complete basic material transactions including sub-transfers, and material issue to job.
  • Assist ME Techs with isolation of defective material.
  • Provide basic support of Kanban replenishment process by retrieving empty bins and delivering full bins to the appropriate assembly line.
  • Use job specific equipment, technologies, and software solutions.
  • Provide basic assembly line support by distributing supplies as needed, ordering replacement components, and refilling adhesives, chemicals, and greases.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience You’ll Need as an Inventory Control Specialist 1:

  • One or more years of material handling, assembly, or other relevant experience.
  • High school diploma or GED strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with general material handling processes.
  • Ability to accurately read and write alphanumeric sequences and perform basic math calculations.
  • Working knowledge of FIFO practices.
  • Ability to work effectively with all team members, work with periodic supervision and adapt to different work groups.
  • Understanding of and desire for continuous improvement.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Acceptable attendance, punctuality, and ability to perform work activities in a manner that is consistent with company policies.
  • Possess individual ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, show initiative, meet quality standards, and provide customer service.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions with strong attention to detail.
  • Basic Excel skills including ability to read tables.

Physical Demands for an Inventory Control Specialist 1:

Work takes place in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and chemicals. Ability to use PPE. Ability to stand or walk for long periods; good manual dexterity, fine motor skills, visual acuity, and ability to use full range of motion. Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds without assistance.
