Reports To: Director of Operations / CFO / CEO

Position Summary:

Sustainable Restaurant Group is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Purchasing Manager to oversee procurement operations across our portfolio of restaurant concepts. This role is responsible for sourcing quality products, negotiating vendor contracts, managing inventory systems, controlling costs, and ensuring timely delivery of food, beverage, equipment, and operational supplies across all locations.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with hospitality industry experience and understands how purchasing impacts guest experience, kitchen operations, and profitability.


Key Responsibilities:
Procurement & Vendor Management
  • Source, evaluate, onboard, and maintain relationships with food, beverage, equipment, service vendors, and supply vendors
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, rebates, payment terms, and service agreements
  • Source new product directed by Director of Operations, and or CEO
  • Identify new vendors aligned with quality, sustainability, and budget goals
  • Ensure consistent product standards across all restaurant locations
Cost Control & Financial Performance
  • Monitor market pricing and proactively manage cost fluctuations utilizing purchasing platform
  • Develop purchasing strategies to improve margins and reduce waste
  • Track food cost, beverage cost, and supply spend across all units
  • Prepare regular purchasing reports for leadership team
  • Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting
Inventory & Operations Support
  • Oversee purchasing systems, ordering schedules, and par levels
  • Partner with chefs, GMs, and operations leaders to forecast needs
  • Help implement inventory controls and standard ordering processes
  • Resolve shortages, substitutions, delivery issues, and quality concerns quickly
Compliance & Standards
  • Ensure vendors meet licensing, insurance, food safety, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain purchasing records, contracts, and approved vendor lists
  • Support sustainability initiatives, local sourcing, and ethical procurement practices


Qualifications
  • 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in restaurants, hospitality, or multi-unit foodservice
  • Strong understanding of food cost controls, inventory systems, and vendor negotiations
  • Experience managing multiple locations or concepts preferred
  • Excellent Excel / spreadsheet and reporting skills
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment


Preferred Experience
  • Multi-unit restaurant group experience
  • Experience with seafood, produce, beverage, and specialty sourcing
  • Familiarity with inventory platforms such as MarginEdge, Restaurant365, Craftable, or similar systems
