Job description

JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
Perform any combination of routine calculation, posting, and verifying duties to obtain accurate inventory information. In this job the inventory clerk will be responsible for checking the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.
Understand and comply with all programs, policies and procedures within the Food Safety and Quality Management System.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Verify inventory calculations by comparing them to physical counts of bulk ingredients and packaging to investigate discrepancies; using these counts to adjust by issuing/returning to shop orders daily.
Verify returns for proper label identification for correct item number, lot number and quantity.
Determine proper storage methods and bin location based on environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
Review line supply pick tickets for accuracy and FIFO on bulk ingredients and packaging
Perform weekly counts and returns of tomatoes.
Use handheld scanner and/or JustFoods/Business Central to make inventory transactions.
Properly report and handle damaged product by completing IAR's & ICD process.
Initiate and assist in developing corrective actions for inventory discrepancies and missing inventory.
Participate in semiannual physical inventory as requested.
May fill in as back-up for other positions within the Inventory Control Department, as needed.

Physical or Mental Demands:
Job requires some lifting, ability to follow set procedures for cycle counting and adjusting shop orders, ability to work in a stressful environment, and strong attention to detail. Must be certified to drive a forklift.

Work Environment:
Administrative, warehouse cold & wet, icy floors, forklift and pedestrian traffic. This is a Safety Sensitive Position.

Special Equipment Used:
Using computers and computer systems (software) to set up functions, enter data, track, or process information.
Attendance:

Ability to work overtime. Must be present during the first 7 working days following end of month to assist in financial statement preparation for prior month. All appointments, vacation and other time off will not be approved during this time.
