Job description

Overview
The full-time Purchaser role will ensure the successful execution of the commodity strategy and planning set forth by the Corporate Procurement organization. This role will be supporting the Stryten Energy Components Division at the Columbus, IN plant, for supply chain activities for various commodities. This function will be reporting to the Senior Manager of Procurement.
Responsibilities
  • Execute on the strategic business plan for Corporate Procurement in support of the Stryten Energy Components Division
  • Upholding the basic tenants of cost, quality, and fulfillment for a procurement professional
  • Research suppliers to best support the needs of the business
  • Collaborate with Category Managers to negotiate supplier contracts
  • Function as main liaison between suppliers and Stryten Energy operations to ensure best supply solutions
  • Executing PO placement to suppliers and coordinating deliveries of materials to Stryten Energy Components facilities
  • Reviewing supplier invoices for accuracy and reconciling any discrepancies
  • Monitoring inventory levels to assure that applicable min/max levels are maintained
  • Seek feedback from suppliers and internal customers to find improvement opportunities.
  • Respond to the unique needs of individual factories or facilities.
  • Additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and company goals.

Qualifications
Education, Experience
  • College degree preferred
  • At least 3 years of supply chain experience in manufacturing or procurement

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • High analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interact in a matrixed and a cross-functional team to achieve goals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Adaptability to business needs and evolving strategies
  • The ability to perform in a fast-paced environment

Environment & Physical Demands
  • This position is primarily performed in an office environment and requires regular onsite attendance. The role also requires periodic presence in manufacturing and production areas. While on the manufacturing floor, employees may be exposed to moving machinery, noise, dust, fumes, varying temperatures, and other industrial conditions. Required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in designated areas.

  • Sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, pushing, and pulling, as necessary.
  • Exposure to extreme environmental conditions. (hot, cold, humid)
  • Occasional lifting from grams up to fifty pounds.
  • Required to be on site 5 days a week.
