Responsibilities:
  • Sizes & selects technical products & services, as well as provides engineering information to the client base.
  • Prepare cost estimates and quotations by reviewing customer specifications and other related documents.
  • Prepare and submit required customer documentation and obtain required documentation from suppliers.
  • Respond to phone and email correspondence from customers, manufacturers, and the outside sales team.
  • Gain customer acceptance by explaining product application, including product features & benefits, assisting with special orders and specialty applications.
  • Identify current and future customer equipment requirements.
  • Obtain Customer Portal(s) proficiency.
  • Coordinate internal resources (purchasing, sales, shipping & receiving) as project manager.
  • Establish personal rapport with customers, principals, and outside sales staff.
  • Submit purchase orders with equipment manufacturers, which include providing technical & commercial information.
  • Expedite orders and maintain contact with customers and suppliers.
  • Follow up on orders to assure critical deliveries.
  • Resolve any order problems related to delivery or paperwork issues directly with customers and suppliers.
  • Complete a technical analysis of field failures and returns from customers.
  • Handle all inquiries/contacts in a professional manner.
  • Work in concert with our outside sales team; funnel leads/opportunities to the sales team.
  • Resolve product issues or determine product needs over the phone or via e-mail.

Desired Education and Experience:
  • Minimum: Associates or Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and or prior experience in the industry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Solid computer skills including proficiency with CAD, spreadsheet and database applications
  • Must possess the ability to think and solve problems with creative understanding. Must have a good eye for detail and be able to suggest process/specification modifications as required
  • Ability to organize and prioritize jobs
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Specification and mechanical drawing interpretation
  • Strong organizational abilities and project management skills
  • The ability to work cooperatively with peers to achieve organizational goals
  • High degree of independence, self-motivation and self-direction, especially with regard to identifying and managing high priority projects, in a fast-paced environment
