Pleuger is looking for an experienced Applications Engineer to join our growing U.S. team in Houston, Texas. If you have a strong technical background in pumps, rotating equipment, motors, or industrial equipment and enjoy working directly with customers, this could be a great opportunity to take your career to the next level.


In this role, you'll combine engineering expertise with customer interaction. You'll help customers solve challenging application problems, develop equipment solutions, support sales opportunities, and work with Pleuger engineering teams in the U.S. and Germany.


You'll spend most of your time working from our Houston location, with approximately 10โ€“20% travel to customers and project sites across the U.S.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop pump and motor solutions based on customer application requirements
  • Select and size submersible pumps, motors, and related equipment
  • Review customer specifications, RFQs, drawings, datasheets, and technical requirements
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, calculations, and equipment selections
  • Partner with Sales to develop solutions that are both technically sound and commercially competitive
  • Serve as a technical resource for customers, consultants, and internal teams
  • Join customer calls, meetings, technical presentations, and project discussions
  • Support projects from the initial RFQ through delivery and execution
  • Work directly with Pleuger's engineering and manufacturing teams in Germany on complex applications
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and develop practical solutions
  • Visit customer facilities and project sites when needed
  • Support field service, commissioning, and startup activities when required
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with customers and technical partners


What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Applications Engineering, Project Engineering, Technical Sales, or a similar role
  • Hands-on experience with pumps, motors, rotating equipment, or industrial machinery
  • Strong understanding of equipment selection and industrial applications
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and datasheets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with customers
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple opportunities or projects
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10โ€“20% within the U.S.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • German language skills are a plus, but not required
