JOB SUMMARY
The L&E Programs Assistant schedules, coordinates, and welcomes K-12, college, university, and adult group visitors to the museum. This position provides informational and directional assistance, organizes docent-guided tour schedules, supports group visit operations, and helps identify best practices for visitor engagement and retention. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and enjoys working with children, adults, educators, and large tour groups in a public-facing environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Schedule and coordinate visits for K-12, college, university, and adult groups.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for group visit inquiries and reservations.
- Welcome and assist group visitors upon arrival, ensuring a positive and engaging experience.
- Provide informational and directional support to all group visitors.
- Organize, maintain, and communicate docent-guided tour schedules for group visits.
- Coordinate logistics and communication related to group tours and educational visits.
- Collect, maintain, and track group visit data and records.
- Ensure adherence to established policies, procedures, and best practices for group visits.
- Maintain and update website information related to group visits and tour opportunities.
- Assist in identifying and implementing best practices for visitor engagement and retention.
- Support Learning and Engagement department programs and activities as needed, particularly those related to group visitation.
- Collaborate with museum staff, docents, educators, and community partners to ensure successful group experiences.
- Respond professionally to inquiries from visitors, educators, and community organizations.
- Serve as a positive representative of the museum at programs, events, and outreach activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Art History, Museum Studies, Education, Arts Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Experience supporting arts, cultural, educational, or nonprofit administration preferred.
- Experience coordinating, scheduling, or supporting group tours, educational visits, or public programs preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in arts, culture, education, and visitor engagement.
- Experience working with diverse audiences and community groups preferred.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and groups of varying ages and backgrounds.
