Responsibilities

Summary:
The Public Relations (PR) Intern will work closely with the Communications team in building and maintaining the brand's reputation by assisting with media outreach, content creation, and campaign reporting in local markets. This hands-on role offers valuable, real-world experience in public relations and strategic communications.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Public Relations Intern drafts and distributes press releases, media alerts, and other PR materials.
  • Monitors media coverage and compile daily press clippings.
  • Researches media contacts, industry trends, and competitor activity.
  • The Public Relations Intern supports the planning and execution of PR campaigns and events.
  • Manages and updates media lists and databases using online PR software.
  • Tracks and analyzes the performance of PR activities.
  • The Public Relations Intern assists with social media content creation and scheduling.
  • Attends meetings and brainstorming sessions.
  • Provides general administrative support as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience with (or willingness to learn) online PR software such as Cision, Meltwater, or Muck Rack.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and willingness to take initiative.
